Try new art things- for goodness sake!

I often get stuck in my own world creating late at night. The techniques I have learned are like second nature. But I find I get easily bored and tired of it. What do you do to keep things fresh?

I myself often get a flood of ideas of my own just by looking at other peoples artwork. Another fun way to get ideas is to go on Pinterest! what an amazing way to be inspired by looking at beautiful photos of landscapes, animals, other artworks, sketches, and more.

Once I have gotten an idea of what I want to do that I think hasn’t been done, I then decide how I am going to challenge myself to learn a new technique in painting or another art medium. Sometimes on the other side of fear is that new masterpiece!

I go out to art stores as well to see if there are any new products out that I can play with which is a wonderful way to try something new and get creative. If we make it a habit to try something different then we gain not only a new experience but also a new habit of expanding our knowledge of how things work or don’t work.

Everything is a lesson.

So in order to grow as artists we have to challenge ourselves to go above and beyond, because art is all about how we feel and how it showcases our talents of what we offer the world in our expression of it. And remember there are things that haven’t been done yet as an artist, so why not try and be the first!

Because once you get really good at something, in order to grow we have to do something we aren’t. Think outside the box as it were!

I hope you all are inspired to try something different!

For those who love animals

When I paint pet portraits for people it not only gives me a great deal of satisfaction but also it helps others get a piece of love that’s forever. The animals twinkle in their eye that only they know, the little markings of fur that makes them unique and the special bond they have with each other.

But not all animals have this love from their masters. Some are abandoned, disregarded and abused. Some are left to wonder this world and become ill or even worse hurt.

But then we come across the earth angels that go out of their way to save these creatures, no matter where they are. When they get the call they go out in the dead of night or early morning and find these poor creatures and save them.

I have the privilege of getting to see this in action in my local area through the internet. Victory for Animals Society is a non-profit organization that helps these poor abandoned and more often, hurt animals.

These ladies who run this place who are located in Brighton On are fighting to keep this place open. Fighting for animals who cannot speak and defend themselves. www.victoryforanimals.com

Why are these places so important? Because in this day and age not enough people DO care about the welfare of these animals. People move into a place with no pets so they leave them behind or dump them somewhere.

We need to praise those who sacrifice their time, their health and their safety to get these animals out of harm’s way.  If you can buy a coffee, you can donate. Every bit helps these animals and look at it this way, you did a good deed!

These animals need care, shelter, food. They need people like us to raise awareness to help get the word out to keep this wonderful shelter open.

Besides that, you get a tax receipt which looks good at the end of the year, so why not!

I hope you find it in your heart to give a little, they will appreciate it tremendously!
