Getting it out there

Sometimes when we see others doing things we wish we could do it too. We have fears that hold us back however. What if no one likes it? what if I don’t make any money?

These are all things that stop us from truly living. If we waited for perfect moments to come about to make things happen we would end up with nothing and our dreams would be put on hold forever.  Sometimes we need to just get it out there. So what if it isn’t perfect or it isn’t the trend, the point is it is what we need to do to fulfill our lives.

Putting it out there for everyone to see proves that we can accomplish things and dreams we have envisioned for our own pleasure. Does it really matter what anyone else thinks of what you have done? No All that matters is what you think. Are you happy at the end of the day. Do you feel satisfied with your accomplishments in life?

I wanted to be an author and illustrator. I decided this in my head. I had no idea how to do it or how I was going to accomplish it. But the idea and the determination was there. SO now after a few years of doing illustrations for people and getting a few books out there I decided to become an author. I had written poetry over the years and thought you know what I am gonna put it out there. I know its not perfect and I self published it on Amazon but you know what I DID IT! And now that the fear is out of my head I am writing a Children’s  book of my own and I am illustrating it. I can do anything I decide. Some way some how if you want to get out there and do something, just get the fear and toss it aside and do it. Because the feeling of having the books that I have illustrated out there from other authors and now a book I have in my hand that has my name on it, I can’t tell you how much confidence it gives me to go more and do more.

SO get out there and do it!!! You will be surprised at how much you can accomplish!

Keeping it Real in 5

Dispite the long drawn out slow spots once peak season is over, we can always find ways to keep a steady flow by keeping it real.

What do I mean by that? Well being transparent and truthful about the fee and processes of your business can help to break down some of the reasons cost is what it is. Customers like to know exactly what they are paying for, be it labour or cost of product etc is just some of the ways in which your customer will feel they are getting the better deal.

1 Communication: One of the key elements in any successful business. Keep it real by telling them if a family matter has put things on hold or someone is sick. It helps because we are all needing this at one time or another. Remember that you are only one person and if they are truly in it they will be understanding.

2 Stand for something you believe in; If you are passionate about creating something to help someone else and that you do care about them. This is what keeps it real.

3 Making it personal. Once you have figured out what it is that they need, make it all about them to be more then just a sale. Make it a memorable commitment. Go above and beyond for them, show them you are taking the job seriously and think if you were them what would you like to see.

4 Make your loyal customers feel like they are VIPs. And they are! If they return to you time and time again then show them the same by setting deals aside just for them. This will keep it real and keep them happy.

5 Keep it simple. The faster they can get the product in there hands the better. So keep it simple, the process should be easy from start to finish. One of my biggest tips is putting the most information on the initial sale item so that they can see everything required before purchasing. Makes for easy shopping and a fun experience for everyone.

So now that you are armed with these tips give it a try!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Persistence is the winner

Often times we think we cannot win in some situations, we don’t have the right tools or the right education or even money to get where we think we need to go.

But not all is lost. We have our persistence that goes far beyond any of those boundaries. Its continued efforts are not so forgotten. If we really want something worth fighting for then education or classification of status is easily surpassed with dedication and fueled passion.

Here is some pearls of wisdom by Alva Folkes that I stumbled across while reading some of her blog: You may not be as experienced, as well funded, as well connected, as talented, but you can always outthink, out hustle, and outwork everyone else. The extra mile is a vast, unpopulated wasteland–everyone talks about the extra mile, but few people go there.

You may not be as experienced, as well funded, as well connected, as talented, but you can always outthink, out hustle, and outwork everyone else. The extra mile is a vast, unpopulated wasteland–everyone talks about the extra mile, but few people go there.
Even when everything else seems stacked against you, effort and persistence can still be your competitive advantages–and they may be the only advantages you truly need.
Power is energy and makes things happen in a good way. – Alva Folkes.

SO when in doubt remember this because it is true and we are indefinitely powerful enough to get what we want if we really want something bad enough!  SO go the extra mile even if you’re not getting paid for it because the return will be rewarded.TIP: People remember the person that did that little something extra because so few do!

Book smarts to get you a paycheck is not the correct way to live a full life, Passion is the gasoline that fuels our drive. If we love what we do then the amount of money we obtain is not the key to our happiness. Giving of yourself of your talents that are more rewarding than any dollar amount.
