Autism Awareness Month

Normally my site is for art. And 99.9% of the time it is. But today I wanted to touch on a very different subject that is close to my heart. Autism. I felt that as a parent who hears things from other parents and my own experiences I wanted to give something that may help.  Autism is different for everyone.

Each child is different and has unique abilities. It is not always something you can see right away even if you are a parent with an autistic child. That is what makes things very difficult for those who teach them and for those who are not in their life every day. No one understands unless you have lived it or with it.

Autism is different for everyone. The most common misconception is they are misbehaving or the parent is at fault for not disciplining. No one understands unless you have lived it or with it.  Please remember this the next time you are in public, and you see a child or adult “acting out” know that they could very well be a special needs person so we who do not know or have an understanding of what is taking place need to be less judgmental. Things don’t always appear as they seem.

Let me emphasize: No one understands unless you have lived it or with it.  Please remember this the next time you are in public, and you see a child or adult “acting out” know that they could very well be a special needs person so we who do not know or have an understanding of what is taking place need to be less judgmental. Things don’t always appear as they seem.

Instead of rolling your eyes or making inappropriate comments, why not think with compassion. Think if that was you in that situation how you would feel. Everyone is going through something that we have no knowledge about, it is not up to us to make a stranger’s life more upsetting. They have enough to deal with than adults making sarcastic comments.

But I wanted to tell you that I received a mp3 and It came to me from a text from a very good friend of mine. It was to play at night called 101 power thoughts. It is about an hour long. I was told to play it at night as I was going to sleep and to play it while my kids were asleep as well. powerthoughts  I thought when I listened to it awake the first time to be very good for the soul and very positive. I didn’t really pay it much attention when I turned it on again the following night and went to sleep a usual.

When I awoke the atmosphere of the house seemed the same to me. I got up and did the usual things. But something was different. My child was up and cleaning out clothing from the wardrobe, throwing away what was said to contain negative clothing!  I was shocked. How could this be? and it went on from there. The attitude the demeanor,  You can imagine my surprise.

I am amazed that something that I have been saying every day forever to be positive and to be kind and love others and not hurt one another with words (like a broken record) had finally sunk in. But was this fluke? I don’t think so, even my other child began to change in some way, kinder (if that’s possible) thoughtful.  Now I am not a scientist. no far from it. I only stumbled across this from my friend. But could it help other people? I don’t know but I don’t want to keep this information to myself. If you want to try it, do it! the link is here:

Now I am not a scientist. no far from it. I only came across this from my friend. But could it help other people? I don’t know! Everyone is different, but I don’t want to keep this information to myself. If you want to try it, do it! the link is here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5j0v46p03vrw8qd/101powerthoughts_9781401934255-1.mp3?dl=0 .

What harm could it do, it helped my family so I want to help you! Anyone having a difficult time I say try it! It is unconventional yes but aren’t the best things stumbled upon?

I think that because our mind is awake even when we slumber and is not being distracted by everyday traffic in life so it has more impact and results.  I hope that this helps everyone!!!! and Please feel free to let me know how it went! I am curious and this could be a wonderful tool to help more people and our children.   This is a free mp3 by Louise Hay and if you go to this site you can also download it for free as a gift for signing up to hayhouse!!! >>>>  http://www.hayhouse.com (not that I am promoting them and am not in anyway getting paid to do so).

Namaste
