Being what an Author needs

By now you have decided you want to become an illustrator, that’s great! But how do you go about it?

Well, to start you should already have a portfolio online so potential customers can view some of the already fine works you have been able to produce.

What if I don’t have any past works to show? Well then now is the time to get some made. The work you put in now will pay off later. People are visual, they want to see what you are capable of.  Even if your style may not be everyone’s cup of tea the one that is looking for you needs to see your genre or type of work you can produce.

You need to find your skill that you excel at and stick to that type of Author who is looking for what you can produce.

When it comes to children’s books,elizabethcampbellearth-eye the art must be fun bright and engaging for the ever learning young minds of tomorrow.  The illustrator must be able to do various poses of the same character page after page and be consistent in color and style.

Practice makes perfect. In order to get better, we must continue to grow as artists, ever expanding our craft to make it better and better. Self-help shops online are a great way to learn tools of the trade without going back to school and keeps you up to date on the latest and greatest. It can be a wonderful asset to have in case you get a project that requires some different skill sets.
